Sommer was elected to the Township board in 2016. She serves on the Canton Roads Task Force and the Canton Roads Advisory Group and the Culture Arts and Heritage Commission.
Previously, she was elected to the Library board where she served as it's Vice-Chair and was also on the finance committee.
She's worked for Obama for America, State Representative Dian Slavens and the US House of Representatives. She is currently a non-profit executive where she has managed a grant portfolio of $1.8 million to 8 organizations that engage in civic education work.
